My Home Burned Down. My Community Showed Up.

I had big plans for Cool Mamas Club in 2023. Little did I know that life had even bigger plans for me.

On January 3, my home burned down. My family, which includes my husband, our two kids and my grandmother, lost all of our belongings. What happened next blew my mind and touched my heart.

My community rallied around me.

My co-worker, Brande, started us a GoFundMe. Erykah Badu (my doula for my second baby) shared our fundraiser and has been checking in on us consistently. My best friend, Sarah Jayne, sat with me on the phone while I cried my eyes out after the fire. My midwife for my second child, Adrian, was one of the first people that I reached out to. My mom, aunt and grandmother, and mother-in-law have helped with childcare. The list goes on.

This has inspired me to be even more dedicated to Cool Mamas Club's mission of caring for mothers and families. Every mama deserves a community that's willing to ride for them. I'm a testament of what a solid crew can do. So as soon as the dust settles, I'll be right where I belong -- here serving mamas. As always, it'll be an honor.
